Description

From the collection of longtime IOC member James Worrall—an appealing group lot of seven pins, pendants, and medals issued for the Rome 1960 Summer Olympics, which consists of the following:

Two identical silver-tone plaques from the ‘Municipality of Castel Gandolfo,’ both 30 mm x 43 mm, 17 gm, issued for ‘rowing and canoeing,’ both with leather strap

A gilt-plated necklace, 38 mm x 51 mm, 50 gm, with sport pictograms on one side and the Olympic rings with Roman numerals on the other, MCMLXV (1965) and MCMLXXV (1975), with original chain

A silver-tone medal, 57 mm, 63 gm, honoring the “Stadio del Nuoto” on one side and Romulus and Remus with the Capitoline Wolf on the other

A small silver-tone medallion, 25 mm, 6 gm, with torch relay runner on front and ancient Roman architecture on the reverse

A silver-tone pendant, 32 mm, 12 gm, with heraldry on the front and the reverse with Olympic rings and text: “Provincia do Roma, 6-IX-60”

A musical note pin, 25 mm x 51 mm, with a small Olympic design of Romulus and Remus with the Capitoline Wolf. In overall fine condition.
