Interesting gyroscope described by Otto Berg as a V-2 rocket gyro, measuring approximately 4″ x 3.5″ x 3.25″, possibly a prototype or a test unit. Through his work at the Naval Research Lab, Berg became a pioneer in the field of rocket science as a participant in early experiments that employed V-2 rockets captured from the Germans after World War II. Most screws on the unit are sealed with dabs of red paint as an anti-tamper or vibration indicator. Housed in a Pelican Vault case. In very good to fine condition.
From the collection of Dr. Otto Berg.
