Collection of 13 original vintage glossy photos of notable World War II figures, ranging in size from 6.5 x 8.75 to 10 x 8.25, the majority accompanied by typed captions. Subjects include: President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill aboard the HMS Prince of Wales in 1941; FDR on the presidential yacht Potomac following his momentous 1941 at-sea meeting with Churchill; an image of a handwritten draft letter by FDR sent to Churchill for his birthday in 1943; The Big Three Allied leaders of FDR, Churchill, and Joseph Stalin at the 1943 Tehran Conference; Emperor Hirohito walking to the Ise Shrine after Japan’s 1945 surrender; an image of a typed letter from FDR to Wendell Wilkie, one of Roosevelt’s five million private papers made public; and six photos of Dwight D. Eisenhower as a general and as president, dated between 1952 and 1957. In overall very good to fine condition, with instances of creasing and edgewear, and old staples to a few borders. Accompanied by two Western Union Press Message telegrams.
