Description

American pilot (1907-1995) best remembered for a 1938 navigational 'error' (now widely believed to have been a purposeful protest against government red tape) that landed him in Dublin instead of his stated destination of California. Vintage glossy 4 x 3 photo of Corrigan waving from a plane's cockpit, signed and inscribed in blue ink, "To Curtis Iddings Jr., 'Wrong Way,' Douglas Corrigan," who adds a handwritten note on the back and signs with his initials, "DC." The note reads: "Curtis, The photo of me in the Curtiss Robin taken in 1938 at Lindbergh field near where in 1927 I helped to build 'the Spirit of St. Louis.'” In fine condition, with some light silvering to the darker areas of the image. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
