Scarce Japanese National Olympic Committee (NOC) badge from the 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics, 22 mm x 24 mm, depicting the bell of the Berlin Games with a red stone inset at center, reading: "Ich rufe die Jugend der Welt." The reverse has an inscription in Japanese. The delegation 179 Japanese athletes competed in 13 sports, taking home 18 medals. A Japanese segment was also performed at the closing ceremonies in anticipation of the Tokyo 1940 Olympics—Games that had to be canceled as a result of World War II.
