Unique pairing of two items: a white silk swatch of Cochran's scarf worn on multiple record-setting flights, affixed inside one of her personal 4.5 x 3.25, signed in blue ballpoint, "Jacqueline Cochran," with typed caption: "This scarf was worn by me on my flight in the F-86 Sabre Jet on May 8, 1953 at Edwards Air Force Base, when I became the first woman to break the sound barrier"; and a TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, January 10, 1958, detailing the flights on which the scarf was worn, including three world speed records and a woman's altitude record.
