Baseball pitcher, manager, and scout, and hockey coach and executive (1888-1958) who was implicated in the Black Sox scandal for having 'guilty knowledge' of the fix. Three uncommon items signed by Jean Dubuc, associated with his career in hockey: a Canadian-American Hockey League supplemental player's contract for the 1932-33 season, signed in fountain pen by Dubuc; a Canadian-American Hockey League contract sent to Robert W. Taylor for the 1934-35 season, signed in fountain pen by Dubuc; and a TLS on Providence Hockey Club letterhead, October 17, 1934, to Taylor, in part: "Enclosed find contract for the 1934-35 season. Kindly sign this immediately and return to us as we start training November 1st." Also includes an unsigned letter from the Philadelphia Hockey Club, outlining a breakdown of gate receipts shared with players, and an issue of the 'Boston Arena News' for 1935-1935. In overall very good to fine condition.
