United States Army general (1879-1967) who learned to fly the first military planes purchased from the Wright Brothers, and became America's first military aviator as an airship pilot; he rose to chief of the Air Corps following World War I. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Benjamin Foulois posing in his military uniform in front of an airplane, signed in fountain pen, "With best wishes, B. D. Foulois, Major General, Air Corps., U.S. Army, Retired, October 29, 1942." In fine condition, with a crease to the lower left corner of the photo.
