African-American actress (1911-1995) remembered for her role as Prissy in Gone with the Wind. Two items: a glossy 7.5 x 9.25 photo of McQueen in the 1946 Western film Duel in the Sun, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "Thanks Charles, Sincerely, Butterfly McQueen, 'Vashti,' 'Duel in the Sun'"; and a 6 x 4 postcard depicting the Declaration Signers' monument in Augusta, Georgia, with a 1987 handwritten note from McQueen, in part: "Thanks very much Paul…Happy New Year, Hastily, Butterfly McQueen." In overall fine condition, with trimmed edges to the photo.
