Reports of letters concerning the petition of the Continental Congress to King George III - apparently the October 26, 1774 petition of the First Congress - which was delivered through the hands of Lord Dartmouth; the Answer to the petition stated: "His Majesty has been pleased to receive the Petition very graciously, and to say, that as it was a Matter of great importance, he would lay it before the two Houses of Parliament."
