Born Brian Donnelly in 1974, KAWS began his career as a graffiti artist and animator. His 'Companions'—clown-like figures based on Mickey Mouse, with Xs on eyes and hands, and two bones sticking out of the head—have soared in popularity since being introduced in 1999. 'KAWS: Holiday Hong Kong' gray vinyl 'bath toy' doll executed by KAWS in 2019, released to celebrate his exhibition which featured a colossal 28-meter long inflatable companion displayed in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour from March 22nd to March 31st, 2019. This 8.5″ tall version features the companion in a relaxed, reclined pose with its arms spread wide. One foot is stamped, "Made in China," and the back of the package bears a KAWS:HOLIDAY hologram. Sealed in its original packaging and in fine to very fine condition.
