Official floater-style RIAA platinum sales award presented "to United Artists Records of America to commemorate the sale of more than 1,000,000 copies of the United Artists Records long-playing record album Rocky.'" Framed with its disc, plate, and a small image of the album cover to an overall size of 17 x 21. The award appears to have been rebacked and is in fine condition. Composed by Bill Conti, the soundtrack for Rocky peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Charts on the strength of the film’s hit theme song, ‘Gonna Fly Now,’ which has since become a part of American pop culture. An atypically seen sales award presented to the record’s label.
