World War II-era A10-A aircraft sextant as used for navigation by the Army Air Forces, in its original 9″ x 9″ x 5.75″ wooden case. One of the most commonly used sextants in the Army Air Forces, the compact device features a lighted bubble and a recording disk to determine averages. The USAAF tag on the side identifies the manufacturer as Ansco, and the unit as: "Sextant, Type A-10A, Serial No. AF43-4288." The wooden case bears a matching label on the lid, and contains some accessories. In very good to fine condition.
