Unsigned example of Bruce's self-published first book: Stamp Help Out! First edition, second issue with several profanities struck out. Privately published, circa 1961-62. Paperback, 8.5 x 11, 52 pages. In very good to fine condition, with some staining to wrappers. Bruce self-published this magazine-style book of humorous stories and self-parody to sell at concerts and events, as well as outlets like Lawrence Ferlinghetti's City Lights Bookstore. When he became embroiled in controversial obscenity charges, Bruce reprinted the book with profane words struck through and asked that original remaining original copies be destroyed. Accompanied by a paperback edition of The Almost Unpublished Lenny Bruce: From the Private Collection of Kitty Bruce, published by Running Press in 1984.
