Collection of 28 poetry, artwork, and photography books from the personal estate of Tony Glover, which is highlighted by an unbound galley proof of Mapplethorpe by Robert Mapplethorpe, hardcover with dust jacket, published in 1992 by Random House, which was sent to Glover by poet and musician Patti Smith, who personally obtained this preliminary copy from Mapplethorpe’s studio. Included with the book is an ALS from Smith, penned inside a greeting card, which reads: “Hi Tony, Sorry this took so long, it’s the unbound sheets from Robert’s Studio. So it came from a good place. Thank you for the Rimbaud, and your work. All the best to you and yours.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, which Smith has annotated: “This has been sitting around for months. Sorry.”
