Appealing cream-colored handkerchief belonging to the great Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, approximately measuring 18 x 16.5 unfolded, with the lower left corner bearing an embroidered single-letter monogram of "R." Included with the handkerchief is a handwritten and signed letter of transmittal from Rachmaninoff's widow Natalia, dated December 8, 1953, which reads: "You will find enclosed a little souvenir of Mr. Rachmaninoff, which I am sending you according to your request. Thank you very much for the kind letter you and your husband wrote me." In fine condition, with light toning from age. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
