Description

Uncommon crew jacket from Queen's 1977 'A Day at the Races Tour,' size medium, with black acetate body and beige cotton inner lining, and striped knit cuffs, waistband, and collar, which bears the original Felco label. The left and right chest is stitched with white cursive lettering, “Lamb Chop” and “1977 Tour,” and the back is prominently emblazoned with Queen’s iconic logo, which features the Zodiac signs of all four members: a pair of lions for Leo (John Deacon and Roger Taylor), a crab for Cancer (Brian May), and two fairies for Virgo (Freddie Mercury). The lions are embracing a stylized letter ‘Q’ that is topped by the crab, and both fairies are sheltering below the lions; there is also a crown inside the ‘Q’ and the whole logo is loomed over by an enormous phoenix. In fine condition, with expected wear from use. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from the consignor, who notes that he received this jacket from his brother, who worked as a stage manager for Queen; his brother's nickname was "Lamb Chop."
