Fantastic pair of left- and right-handed 4000 series Space Shuttle glove TMGs (Thermal Micrometeoroid Garments), both with ILC-Dover tags sewn inside with partially indiscernible annotations; one denotes a part number of "0106-88074-01," serial number of "WT001," and a manufacture date of "10/86." The glove TMGs feature gray palms with blue fingertips. In overall very good to fine condition.
Space Shuttle gloves were often flown and then downgraded to the Water Immersion Training facility where crews would practice underwater; the handwritten serial numbers likely indicate use in training at a minimum. The TMG is the outermost layer of the spacesuit and provides insulation, radiation shielding, and protection from micrometeorites that could otherwise puncture the suit.
