Piece of White House roof timber removed during its 1927 renovation and fashioned into a letter opener, measuring approximately 11.75″ x 1.25″ x .5″, with a plaque on the reverse reading: "This wood was part of the White House roof, erected about 1817 and removed in 1927." In fine condition. A handsome piece of tangible White House history.
