Two items: a matte-finish 8 x 10 portrait, signed in white ink, "Joseph Fielding Smith"; and a TLS, one page, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints letterhead, June 5, 1970, in part: "I deeply appreciate your expressions of faith and confidence, and assure you that I will do everything possible to live worthy of them. The experiences of my life have been rich and rewarding and I am grateful to my Father in Heaven for the further opportunity to serve Him and members of His Church and kingdom here upon the Earth." In fine condition, with a crease to the upper left corner of the letter. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope for the letter.
