Group of five flown covers carried on test flights of the Douglas DC-8, each with a stamped cachet filled out with the flight's information and signed by test pilot William M. Magruder. Dates include: December 17, 1959 (with enclosed note by Magruder: "This card was carried in DC-8 OPA during high Mach No. tests at EAFB on 12/17/59. These tests completed high speed demonstration for the JT-4 powered DC-8"); January 14, 1960 ("Take-off Demonstration"); April 20, 1960 ("Landing tests of the JT-3 powered DC-8"); May 2, 1960 ("Reverse thrust on 4 engines at 400 knots"); and May 20, 1960 ( "Rolls Royce powered DC-8 dives to 0.95 Mach No"). In overall fine condition.
