Description

Two TLSs, each one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, dated 1957 and 1959. The first, of August 12, 1957, in part: "If you will telephone my office on your arrival in Kansas City, I am sure that arrangements can be made for you to come in on the morning of August 30th." The second, of July 22, 1959, in part: "Your letter of June 20th got to the bottom of a pile of some 20,000 letters, and that is the reason you did not receive an earlier thank-you for your interest in Mrs. Truman's welfare. She seems to be getting along all right now. I am very glad that you are interested in politics and hope you will keep up that interest. Senator Symington will have to make up his own mind on his approach to the 1960 convention, and I am sure that he will make it up the right way." In fine condition, with staple holes to the upper left corners. Accompanied by both original mailing envelopes.
