Uncommon grouping of eight items signed by three former prison guards and an inmate from Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, consisting mostly of photos and handwritten letters ranging in size from 8.5 x 11 to 11 x 8.5, with some inscribed, including: George Devincenzi (2; SP and ALS), Jim Albright, Frank Heaney, and inmate Robert Schibline (4; two SPs, a handwritten letter, and a printout). Of particular interest is Schibline’s letter, which reads, in part: “No, I never saw a ghost or spirit ever, on Alcatraz or anywhere else, and I believe that if a ghost or spirit of a dead con of Alcatraz, after having served time on the Rock and having first hand experience…would never come back voluntarily…As for knowing or meeting any famous inmates, yes, quite a few, I’m not sure if you know or heard of some of them.
