Two items related to the Purple Rain Benefit Ball held on November 27, 1984, at the Sheraton-Washington Hotel in Washington, D.C., including: a “Purple Rain, Benefit Ball” invitation, measures 6 x 9 open, with purple cursive text inside reading, “Honorable Mayor Barry, Mayor, District of Columbia and Cavallo, Ruffalo & Fargnoli-Management, Rainbow Over America, Inc., G Street Express, Inc., are pleased to invite you to A Benefit Ball in honor of Prince, The Revolution, Sheila E.,” which notes a $35 donation per person and that proceeds “will be shared with The Marva Collins School, Big Brothers Association of Washington, D.C.”; and a purple 6.5 x 3 unused ticket for the event, issued as No. 692 for “Table 70.” In overall fine condition.
