Vintage matte-finish 5.25 x 3.5 postcard photograph depicting the four deceased members of the Dalton Gang after a fatally botched bank robbery, postmarked Freeport, Illinois, May 26, 1910. Reverse of the postcard bears an ALS signed “J. A. Ells,” in full: “We took a trip, went to Oklahoma. Stopped at Coffeyville Kansas. The Picture shows the Dalton Bank Robbers shot by one man after robbing two banks. One man with a Winchester done the work.” In fine condition, with light silvering to the image.
