Gorgeous trophy from the 1990 Japan Record Awards, measuring 4.5 x 9.5 x 2.25, featuring a gold medallion in the center, with etched text reading, “The Japan Grand Prix ’90, The Grand Prix Album of the Year, Producer, Like a Prayer, Prince.” The reverse is etched, “JPRA Award, 1990.3.12.” Includes the original presentation box and a letter on Warner-Pioneer Corporation letterhead sent to music executive Alan Leeds, in part: “The enclosed award is for ‘Love Song’s’ producer." In fine condition. From the collection of Prince’s assistant Therese Stoulil. Prince co-wrote, co-performed, and co-produced 'Love Song,' which appeared as the third track on Madonna's 1989 album Like a Prayer; Prince also played guitar on three of the album's songs, though he remained uncredited. An exceptional award honoring a remarkable collaboration between two of the era's premier pop music icons. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Therese Stoulil.
