Awesome circa 1988 color 15.75 x 19.75 t-shirt artwork pellon of a skeleton surfing across the state of California below a massive sun and a huge Grateful Dead logo, designed by artist Rick Griffin. In fine condition. An immensely attractive display piece with brilliant color. Pellons are used to print samples of a t-shirt design before a larger run is made; they are rare, as only a few of each were made. Rick Griffin, universally considered to be the greatest rock artist of all time, grew up amidst the surfing culture of southern California and began drawing the comic strip ‘Murphy’ for Surfer magazine in 1961. He later became known as a leading designer of psychedelic concert posters and a contributor within the underground comix movement.
