Space Shuttle Mock-Up Crewman Optical Alignment Sight (COAS) Mount, measuring approximately 8 x 8 x 5, constructed of wood and metal. The entire unit is painted gray. Some chipping and flaking to areas of paint, otherwise fine condition. The COAS was used by the crew for rendezvous, docking, star sightings, and horizon alignment during the Lunar Module phases of the mission. This mock-up was used to evolve the design prior to production of the actual flight hardware.
