Remarkable set of limited edition Disney Art Editions animation maquettes of Belle and the Beast, each numbered 64/500. The maquettes brilliantly depict each character, with Belle holding a basket in a serene stance, and Beast, fangs bared, hunkered over in a menacing crouch; Belle measures 10.25″ tall with a 4″ base, and Beast measures 12.25″ tall with an 8″ base. In overall very fine condition. Used as visual guidelines for animators during production, these stunning maquettes sold out immediately upon their release in 1993. Each is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Disney Art Editions.
