Striking unsigned 8.5 x 6.5 albumen photo of President Lincoln, General John A. McLernand, and Alan Pinkerton taken by Alexander Gardner at Antietam in October 1862, affixed to its original 11 x 8.75 mount, published circa 1890 by Taylor & Huntington, Hartford, as a part of the series entitled ‘The War for the Union: Photographic History, 1861–1865.’ Reverse of the mount bears a list of available photographs in the series. Scattered marks and foxing to mount, tack holes to corners, and trimmed mount edges, otherwise fine condition.
