Description

Direct from Graceland

Gag financial report issued to Elvis Presley by his manager Colonel Tom Parker for the “fiscal year ending 12/31/66.” The report consists of four pages and two photos, and bears several affixed gold stamps from Chief Potentate Col. Tom Parker of the Snowmen’s League of America. The report page lists Presley’s gross, expenses, profit, and taxes for the year, rating them from “Excellent” to “All Paid,” with perspective references to “Cash on hand for 1967: Whatever is left from 1966” and “Outlook for 1967: Same as in 1966 if we take in the same.” The last page is headed “Mr. Presley’s Active Staff,” and lists thirteen staff members and their various roles, including Marty Lacker, Joe Esposito, Billy Smith, Allan Fortas, Jerry Schilling, Richard Davis, and Elvis’s father, Vernon Presley, as “General Executive Administrator.” The two 8 x 10 photos show Elvis posing with a man (most likely Col. Parker) wearing a monster mask, with a caption above, “President and Vice-President,” and the second photo shows a man dressed as Santa Claus. Presented in a blue 9 x 11.5 folder labeled “Annual Report for Mr. Elvis Presley.” Paper loss and discoloration to presentation folder, and some toning to the report pages, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Greg Howell, in part: “The item above is an original artifact directly from the archive of the Estate of Elvis Presley at Graceland.”
