Disc jockey and singer (real name J. P. Richardson), best known for the song ‘Chantilly Lace,’ the Big Bopper was killed in a plane crash along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens on the morning on February 3, 1959. The Lamar College Cardinal’s 1950 hardcover yearbook, 8 x 10.75, unsigned, featuring an image of Richardson in the “Sophisticated Sophomores” section of the yearbook.
