Union army sergeant who shot assassin John Wilkes Booth as the murderer’s figure passed a crack in the wall of a burning barn on Richard Garrett’s farm in Virginia. Rare ink signature, “Boston Corbett,” on an off-white card. Matted with a portrait of Corbett, a book photo of Booth’s capture, and a small reproduction of a public notice for the arrest of Booth to an overall size of 22 x 15. In very fine condition.
