Color satin-finish 8 x 10 photo of the Fords posing with White House maid Viola Wise, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black felt tip, as president, “For Viola Wise, Best wishes—Rosalynn Carter,” and “Jimmy Carter.” Framed to an overall size of 9 x 11. Collector’s notation on reverse states: “This photograph taken at the White House of the President, First Lady & a maid, Viola Wise. Viola served then from 1977–1981 at the White House. Viola was born in 1905 & died April 29, 1989.” In fine condition. Miss Wise was closely associated with Raleigh DeGeer Amyx and instrumental in assisting him on his quest to amass a major presidential collection.
