Cedric Hardwicke: Vintage matte-finish 10 x 13 full-length portrait of Hardwicke as Julius Caesar, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Walter Alfred, with gratitude, Cedric Hardwicke, 1950, National Theatre, April 1950.” Matted to an overall size of 11 x 14. Signature and inscription quite light but legible and some edge chipping to mat, otherwise fine condition. In April 1950, Hardwicke was starring in George Bernard Shaw’s play Caesar and Cleopatra.
Cesar Romero: Dashing vintage matte-finish 10.25 x 13.25 photo of a very young Romero looking into the camera, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Harold Merry, With the very best wishes of Cesar Romero.” Photo is mounted to an overall size of 14.5 x 19. Some scattered light creases working in from the edges, not affecting the signature or overall appearance, otherwise fine condition.
Neil Hamilton: Vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 photo, signed and inscribed later in black felt tip, “To Sherman Emery—with my every good wish—Neil Hamilton ’78.” In fine condition, with some minor corner tip dings.
Ann Sothern: Vintage pearl-finish 10 x 13 double weight full-length MGM publicity photo of Sothern in an elaborate dress for Maisie Gets Her Man, signed and inscribed later in green felt tip, “Harold Merry—Good luck!! Ann Sothern.” In very good condition, with a few crop marks to borders, heavy touch-up behind image for printing purposes, missing corner tip, and production notations to reverse.
Bette Davis: Satin-finish 11 x 14 head-and-shoulders photo of the lovely actress, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “Hello to Sherman Emery, Bette Davis.” In fine condition.
Ralph Forbes: Terrific vintage matte-finish 11 x 14 photo of Forbes in costume, signed and inscribed in blue ink, “For Walter, with every good wish & happy memories, Ralph Forbes.” Right edge bears a black ink notation from the famous Vandamm studio. In fine condition, with a crease to the upper right corner. RR Auction COA.
