Description

[Jean Harlow]

Vintage matte-finish 10 x 13 Hurrell MGM publicity photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, by Momma Jean, to florist-turned-movie producer J. Kenneth McEldowney, “To J. McEldowney, with my kindest wishes, Cordially, Jean Harlow.” In fine condition, with a few trivial edge creases and some light skipping of ink to one word of inscription. McEldowney owned a chain of floral shops which provided flowers to the first Academy Awards ceremony, as well as Harlow’s funeral. When his wife challenged him to produce a better film than he had seen, he made the 1951 film The River, the first Technicolor film made in India. RR Auction COA.
