Gonzalez.” In part: “I…went over to the limousine and looked down in horror at the blood-soaked seat and floorboard and trampled roses and I said, ‘My God, Mrs. Kennedy was hit.’ I still didn’t want to believe the president was shot…It suddenly dawned on me that it was the president, and then tears came to my eyes, and I couldn’t control myself”; and a TLS signed “Henry Gonzalez,” one page, 8.5 x 11, congressional letterhead, June 24, 1993.
