Johnson & Harband Management business check, 8.25 x 3.25, filled out in type and signed by Robert L. Greene, payable to James Morrison for $80, June 19, 1969, endorsed on the reverse by Morrison, “J. Morrison.” In very fine condition, with expected cancellation holes and bank stamps (none affecting the signature); otherwise, check is in extremely crisp, near-pristine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Roger Epperson/REAL. The day this check was issued, Morrison arrived at the International Film Festival in Atlanta, where The Doors’ film Feast of Friends was screening. The next day, June 20, 1969, Morrison accepted a ‘Golden Phoenix Award’ for the film. This $80 check from his management was most likely a per diem or reimbursement for expenses incurred on the trip. A phenomenal Morrison piece from a day associated with one of his many artistic endeavors. RR Auction COA.
