Mason (1798–1871) was appointed commissioner of the Confederacy to the United Kingdom and France; Hunter (1809–1887) served as the Confederate States secretary of state from 1861–62. Ink signatures, “R. M. T. Hunter,” and “J. M. Mason,” on an off-white 6 x 5 sheet, headed above the signatures in an unknown hand, “Virginia.” In fine condition. RR Auction COA.
