We have whiped the Yankees back and retaken Elizabeth City (so miss rumor has it). We have gained another glorious victory in Tennessee. Killed some fifteen hundred Yankees. The old Merrimac is out at last. She lay under the sheaves at the Navy Yard yesterday and they were buisy putting on her guns so she will be ready for action in a day or so, so someboddy may expect to get hurt soon.” In fine condition, with an edge chip to the second page.
