She sustained some slight injuries in combat with the fllet in Hamton Roads Saturday and Sunday but say she will be ready to go out tomorrow, as just as shure a she goes out I am going to run the Blockade again and see the fight…They have had another great Battle in Arkansas but I have not heard the particulars. General McCullock and McIntosh were killed so the Day Book says and General Price wounded, but we have them surrounded, I hope that may be so…I see that the Malitia has got to repair to Norfolk and report themselves ready for service, poor fellows it will go mighty hard with them but the time has come when Virginia needs every man that can bear arms…It was reported that the Yankees have taken Newburn N.
