His political activism in the 1940s resulted in him being blacklisted, which in turn led to his still-controversial testimony before the notorious House Un-American Activities Committee. Ballads and Blues, Volume I album signed and inscribed on the front cover in blue ballpoint, “To my friend Pete, Best of everything to you, your pal, Josh White.” Scattered light wear and rubbing to front cover and a bit of irregular ink adhesion to portion of inscription, otherwise fine condition.
