Financier and philanthropist (1855–1937) who helped found the Gulf Oil Corporation; he also served as treasury secretary under Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover. Four items: one vintage 3.75 x 5.25 cardstock portrait of Mellon, signed in blue ink, “A. W. Mellon”; and three TLSs signed “A. W. Mellon,” each one page, Secretary of the Treasury letterhead, dated between 1921 and 1926, regarding the McFadden Banking Act, a meeting about tax reductions, and determining locations of hospitals. Various light creases and pencil office notations to letters, and some trivial dings and chips to corners of the photo, otherwise overall fine condition.
