Prolific American daguerreotypist and photographer (1822–1908). ALS signed “A. Bogardus,” one page, lightly-lined, 5.5 x 8.5, personal letterhead, New York, March 22, 1887. Letter to a gentleman. In part: “A notice from you that I had been elected as a non-resident member of your society was a surprise as well as a gratification to me. I had not supposed that my name was known to any extent in the great state of Texas. I enclose and mail with this some photographs of eminent men.” In fine condition, with light wrinkling to upper corners from adhesive residue to reverse.
