Railroad engineer (1815–1878) who was appointed military director and superintendent of the Union railroads by Edwin Stanton in 1862. Original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo of the heavily-whiskered McCallum, by an anonymous studio, signed below the image in black ink, “Yours truly, D. C. McCallum Brev.
