French operatic soprano (1846–1926) especially celebrated for her interpretation of the title role in Bizet's Carmen. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo by Mora of New York, signed in the lower border in black ink, identifying her character as Helen from Faust. Also signed and inscribed on the reverse to a gentleman, and dated London, 1881. Light toning and soiling to the mount, slight silvering to dark areas of the image, and scattered marks and pencil notations to reverse, otherwise fine condition. RR Auction COA.
