Description

Georges Clemenceau

Journalist and statesman (1841–1929) who served as Prime Minister of France during World War I. ALS signed “G. Clemenceau,” one page, 7.5 x 9.5, October 19, 1926. Letter to a general. In part: “The plain fact is that my arteries are in good order and that I have diabetes which I consider as cured by insuline [sic]. Therefore I can but thank you for your kind offer as well as your doctor friend.” A note from the general at the bottom explains that he was invited to America for free medical treatment. Intersecting folds, and light scattered creases and toning, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by an original unsigned postcard photo of Clemenceau. RRAuction COA.
