Letter to Andrew J. Sloper, whose son, William Sloper survived the sinking of the Titanic by dressing as a woman to get in to a lifeboat. In part: “The Committee appointed at the Philadelphia Convention to notify Governor Roosevelt of his nomination for Vice President will meet at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York City…reporting to the Chairman, Senator Walcott, who will be there at that time.” Intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and some scattered light soiling and creasing, otherwise fine condition.
