A fragment of timber from Pancho Barnes Happy Bottom Riding Club. Fragment measures approximately 2.25 x 1.25 and is framed against a printed background of the site of the former club, to an overall size of 8.75 x 7. Barnes was Hollywood's first female stunt pilot. Just before World War II she opened a ranch near Edwards Air Force Base that became a famous hangout for test pilots and movie stars. Known as the ‘Happy Bottom Riding Club,’ it became the epicenter of the aviation world during the early jet age. The club was destroyed by a fire in 1953. RRAuction COA.
