British caricaturist and illustrator (1792–1878) best known for his works satirizing contemporary politics and his illustrations for the works of Charles Dickens. Ink signature, “Geo Cruikshank,” on an off-white 4.5 x 4.5 slip, clipped from the closing of a letter, with a sentiment in an unknown hand. Signature is affixed to a front end page of a leatherbound hardcover copy of The Life of Sir John Falstaff. In fine condition, with uniform toning to slip and page, mild toning to top-edges of book, and a clipped last free end page. RRAuction COA.
